Ubuntu for all

Freedom from crashing, viruses, and costly software packages, if I could just figure out how to use it . . .

I've switched from Windows to Ubuntu to operate my netbook.  A bit about ubuntu:

ubuntu |oǒ'boǒntoō|

Ubuntu is an ancient African word meaning 'humanity to others'. It also means 'I am what I am because of who we all are'. The Ubuntu operating system brings the spirit of Ubuntu to the world of computers.

... and it's free!

It sounds great, but I'm still learning how to install things.  As a result, I'm sorry to say I've been slow to post recent pictures.  I'll get it working with my camera and Picasa soon, I hope.

  2. David Smythe, our first host and rockstar/geophysicist, set it up for me. It's working well now even though it was a bit frustrating to get programs to work because linux is totally foreign to me. I love the idea of open source though - good luck with it!
